Looking for a 2004R

I am looking for a 2004R trans to install into my 66 Cutlass. I am in Calgary Canada so I would prefer something closer to home to save on shipping.

Looking for a 2004R

I have a couple down here in sunny South Florida, if you know anyone coming down to escape the Great White North. They are supposed to be out of Buick GNs; I would have to verify to be sure. Email me to discuss: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

I have one in working order with 70k Carfax confirmed miles out of an '86 442, KZF valve body, better factory internals and extra pressure switch like the BRF GN TH2004Rs
$500

Have you looked local? The 200-4r wasn't an uncommon transmission and you'll likely find several in your local boneyard. You'll want to look for the high performance valve body from the Buick GN or Monty. They'll be hard to find, but less work to get where it'll be happy. You're going to want to tighten up whatever transmission you get, so a boneyard core is as good a place as any to start. Depending on the power you're putting to it, you'll at the very least want to throw in new clutchs and a shift kit. Several places online offer them, as well as billet parts that are much stronger than the factory originals. Look for as late a model as you can to ensure you get one that had the latest factory fixes ... but try to avoid getting one from a land yacht like an Olds 98.
