Inner Fender to Frame Bumper

Looking for a source for the rubber bumper that goes between the rear part of the inner fender and the frame on a 66 Cutlass. Approx 1" in diameter, snaps in to the fender.

Here is a pic of one. Large bottom part measures approx. 1/8" thick by 1" in dia. Overall approx. 3/4" tall. Fits in to a 7/16" hole.

I’ve had success with Steele, Rubber The Right Way, Metro, Fusick, and Soffseal for my ‘66 big olds. You might also check Clips and Fasteners.com

I think my 98 uses similar or the same bumper on the underside of the trunk deck lid. I think my Starfire, therefore the 88’s of that year do too.

Good luck on the hunt. I’m pretty sure this is out there, mine don’t look original.

Chris

I'm not sure if correct size is among the bunch, but I found a number of similar bumper/buttons here, at Restoration Specialties.

You may find them here as well, at Minor Rubber.

Thanks! Restoration Specialties may have the part that I'm looking for. I have contacted them to get dimensions.

My 67 also has 2 on each fender. After lots of searching on the Internet, I got 2 different variety boxes of general purpose bumpers, and nothing in either one worked. I put a bumper in a grommet and got something "functionally equivalent" so I could put the car together with something besides the old rotten stuff. It was a tight fit. I put both in warm water for a few minutes, put the grommet in the inner fender hole, then pulled the bumper through with pliers. I broke a few of the bumpers in this effort.

The bumper kit is #8210 from Clips and Fasteners and the Grommet Kit is from Harbor Freight.
