Headrest/s

I am looking for a parchment white bucket seat headrest/s for my 69 cutlass, preferrably VG to EXC condition. I believe 68-72 are the same.

Thanks Jamesbo. I may have to resort to black but I've been told they don't look that great when dyed a lighter color. I'll see if anything comes from this post, if not I'll follow up with you.

You could always take the headrests to an upholstery place & have them recovered rather than trying to paint them.

Thanks. Unfortunately these headrests are of the molded variety, so I'd like to stay with the factory look.

go on Ebay and search for "Tamrazs" ebay store. They seem to have more interior parts on thier ebay store, but not as many on thier own website.

I'm also not following what you mean by "molded" headrests. Of course I'm not well schooled in the ways of the 68/69 cars, but the 70-72 cars can have thier vinyl removed and replaced to match whatever interior material you want.

Smile Coloured

'68 and '70 headrests are a different colour than '69, which is more of a light tan than pearl white of '68...'70 seems to be brighter white than '68..

Headrests

I have a 69 442 with the "molded" headrests, and you CAN get them recovered. Up here,I was quoted $125-150/pair by a shop that a] does real good work on foreign exotics, and b] has done Olds 442's before! Derek

I would suggest Legendary Auto interiors. Perhaps a little more expensive than used but well worth it.
YOU can recover them easily! If I could do it, anyone can... They only look difficult.
Here is how I did mine and the resulting picture...

I had a non-original cover on mine initially which was bigger... Going from stock-stock is a cinch.

I had mine recovered and they looked pretty good but the body guy insisted they could look better. I went to the Parts Place and they said that it was in fact a very good job from whomever recovered the headrests but because the originals were vacuum-formed a recover would never look that good. They pulled out a reproduction and it was night and day. I will be going to the shop today and will take pictures so you can see the difference. New ones only come in black. If you are ok with how the recovers look I can sell you mine.

Eightupman - John, thanks for the Tamraz tip, I've looked there before and they do sell the black molded variety and the parchment colored covers but I am hoping to find a vacuum molded parchment headrest.

Hey Derek, thanks but I'd prefer to stick with the molded variety if possible.

Thanks Rob, I've heard of Legendary. Price is a little prohibitive but if your as fussy as I apparently am, may not have a choice.

Last but not least, Steven. Thank you as well for answering my post. As you can tell from above I have it in my head that I would like to stay with the stock variety parchment, vacuum molded if possible.
