Going to Albuquerque? Looking for?

So I know this discussion started before but I thought a twist would be to add what you are hoping to find while attending the National meet. I have a list of stuff which includes a 1970 nos gas cap, good condition or nos 8-10 OHM rear speakers, correct rear vacuum tee of my 255 carb, 1970 nos trunk Cutlass emblem and some decent 8 tracks. Plus memorabilia for the new shop. Al

In Phoenix with lots of memorabilia like 300+ hubcaps from the late 50's thru the 70's priced at 5.00 up to 10.00 ea, license plates from nice 50s to the 80's, oil cans, soda cans from the 70's and earlier. Bunch of vintage Tonkas, here is a link for my website on those http://azchevs.com/Toys.html Forgot to mention, about 100 nice shape 8 tracks, mostly well known names back then from rock.

Mission Accomplished.... With the more recent schedule associated with two young sons and travel for work, We managed to successfully and finally enjoy an Olds Nationals after a ten plus year hiatus. We enjoyed a balloon ride on Friday, a tram ride to the peak of the Sandias Mountains on Saturday. I was privileged to rekindle old acquaintances as well as meet new faces on the show field. Sometimes a mere nod of the head from across the room or show field is enough.. Saturday night we were weary from a long day touring the crest of the Mt Sandia's... My wife and I decided that we would eat at the hotel for simplicity before our Sunday AM 0600 departure. After ordering a strong start to a slow wind down, I noticed a fellow quietly relaxing at the end of the bar while everyone else was at the awards banquet. I had noted him earlier in the elevator with his smooth slicked hair, Buddy Holly tattoo and Chuck Taylor high tops.. Although I had not initiated a conversation on first sight, I decided to excuse myself from my family to make one last acquaintance.. After a fifteen minute conversation, I excused myself back to my family for dinner....Fifteen minutes..... My family and I enjoyed our dinner and adult drinks with an oblivious regard to the cost of the final bill, after all we are on vacation.. When I asked our server for the bill, she told me that "Buddy Holly" had covered our entire bill.... I was completely overwhelmed with both gratefulness and undeserving humility. All for nothing more than a small segment of time.. I excused my family to retire to our room for evening clean up and enjoyed one last beverage with our host before retiring myself. It really hammers home the idea that the cars we enjoy are secondary to the individuals you meet at car shows. The impression made was conversation for my young sons on the ride home.. Thanks to all of the individuals who shared their weekend with me..

Wow. Bet that really sunk in after that man's generosity. What an incredible story. We had a great time at the Nationals in Albuquerque. Really was an awesome trip. We are all booked and ready for next year at Gettysburg. I am a fairly new member on CO but one thing I can boast about are my new friends that I met. It's definitely what makes this site so special. Great people!
