The speediest path to getting your car on the road is to have your tank repaired by a shop within driving distance.

Tank

Where are you located??
Is there a "Tank-Renu" in your town??
I did have good luck with them locally in Minn.

There is a business that specializes in gas tank and glass for classic cars
Auto City Classics
Isanti mn
may be worth a try??

Cheers

Using the dimensions from your existing tank as a guide, have you considered having a new tank fabricated?

Not gonna be cheap but not a new mortgage either, having a fabricator build a new one is ur best bet.

Based on the wedding date, I’d suggest a temporary generic tank. You could likely rig up a can safely for the short journey and have the better solution in the queue. Nothing on these older cars is readily available in that short of time (Unless you have a stash of backup parts). I’m also assuming that your trip will be at lower speed and a reasonable short distance. I had the tank renu process applied to my ‘40 Olds nine years ago, zero problems but also not cheap

I have no idea what your tank lookslike but as funk said maybe something else could be used like a tank from a different vehicle, my buddy used a 10 gallon snowmobile gas tank on his project for a while....

You'd like it to be as nearly fume-less and safe as possible. Know anyone with an outboard boat engine? Sometimes they have several or at least one you might borrow. If you want to do it yourself, you'll need a fuel line and vented tank - both are readily available. You may need to increase the length of the rubber hose fuel line but I see no reason why you can't rig up a temporary safe application. Several scenarios come to mind.

Norm I think you may have the best idea. I was thinking some type of marine use tank.

Frank Glenn - I think it may be the quickest & safest possibility for getting the car and its occupants to the wedding and reception at a minimum.

EDIT: I have no idea why I said Frank - maybe because I replied to Ignachuck earlier.

You might take a look at the availability of general marine gas tanks from RDS Manufacturing, Inc. They sell a wide variety of tanks and can custom make a tank.
This is their webpage for remote fill tanks and demonstrating the dimensions/sizes. See also their page for direct fill. I don't know which type your car has - direct or remote but I suspect remote.

Here is a listing of a couple of their tanks from Amazon to give you an idea of pricing. Search Amazon for RDS MFG INC
