Red face Driving myself nuts trying to locate an Edelbrock 7111 intake (!)

WTB - Edelbrock 7111 intake manifold. This intake has the extra material above the intake runner ports to allow the use of big block heads on a small block Olds. Well, I have been scouring the planet trying to find one as it is the last part I need to get my car running down the road for the summer (455 heads on a 403). Just my typical luck that a "simple" intake like this can't be found anywhere when I need it. Even a used one that I can glass bead blast back into shape would be fine.

If anybody possibly has a line on one, let me know. A $50 finders fee is on the table also (seriously).

Do please let me know - thank you kindly!

Paul

Well, I have one on my engine. Lemme know if your desire rises to the level of me pulling it and reinstalling the iron intake in its place.

Man, that is like taking the shirt off your back for another Olds guy - WAY too much to ask for! I would never let you put the cast iron intake back on, instead at very least providing something else cool enough to call an appropriate substitute! The post below you (tv442) is at Carlisle right now, and has spotted the elusive animal, and is attempting to lock it in for me - FINGERS CROSSED

Again, your offer to swap your cast iron intake back in on my behalf was just too much - I can't thank you enough! Unreal...

Question Unreal...

Soooo..... Forum member tv442 is at Carlisle and runs across one, contacts me, and we hammer out a deal. THEN forum member Four4two comes in and posts his brand new one up, and I'm thinking I'd rather put a brand new one on the engine I am building to go best with the brand new aluminum heads. I figure I'll put the used Carlisle intake up on Ebay and get hopefully something close to what I paid for it (probably not). Now here you are with an intake already port massaged for use with big block heads, which would save me an entire afternoon / evenings work to port match either one of the other two intakes. It wasn't my plan to have it go this way by any stretch, but will I possibly buy yours to save time in the process, ending up owning three of these intakes? Almost funny (almost)

PM sent

Talking Scored a brand new one!

I was hoping to just find one, and did indeed score one. At first I was happy just to find a used one that I could glass bead blast into decent appearance (which I did buy), but then forum member Four4two hooked me up with the brand spanking new one. Being that it is going on top of two brand new aluminum heads, I'd rather see the brand new intake to compliment the brand new big block heads best from a visual standpoint. I will spend an evening port matching the brand new intake to my liking. I used to professionally port cylinder heads, so I have over 50 different air motors all equipped with different carbides and cartridge rolls ready to rock n roll (no joke), along with the experience to nail it rather quickly. Yeah, covered in aluminum shavings and dust isn't exactly pleasant, but I'll clean up the mess...

So, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - THANKS GUYS!
