Door chrome for a 1965 Vista Cruiser
Hello all, I am looking for chrome for all 4 doors on my 1965 Vista Cruiser. I have pieces, put they are pitted in places and would like better for the car. Not sure if chrome off a 1966 VC will work, or if chrome off a 65-66 4-door post F-85/Cutlass will work, but willing to see. Thanks in advance for your help. Here is a photo of the car if helpful.

Are you talking about the door frame stainless or the pot metal down low on the doors?
In any case, the front doors on a Vista are the same as those on a Town Sedan, so yes, the front door trim will be the same. The window frame trim is the same on 64-67. The pot metal is unique to the 1965 model year.
The rear doors are unique to the Vista, due to fact that they are 5" longer than on any other four door or wagon. The window frame trim is the same on 64-65 (66-67 are different due to the kick-up in the beltline). Actually, the front and rear upright parts of the window frame trim will be the same on other Town Sedans and wagons, but the top horizontal piece is longer due to the longer door. The piece from a Sport Coupe MIGHT be able to be cut down to work; I have not actually measured one. The pot metal is unique to the 1965 Vista. Nothing else interchanges.

Thank you for the information, Joe. I am specifically looking for the stainless trim, not the pot metal at this point. The other information is very helpful in sorting out what is likely to work. John

John, I have all four doors off a '65 Vista Cruiser, NM car, and will part out any piece you need. Email me at rgreen@q.com with more specific photos and descriptions. I only have the doors, no body.
