bucket seats
bucket seats
looking for a pair of bucket seats/cores, for full size olds , pontiac , 1970 thru 1978 or so. want to change my 73 delta 88 to buckets , when it goes to the trim shop. want original style seats , not custom , or aftermarket.
Im asking $400/obo, all hardware is there, tracks/mounting bolts. No cracks in head rest, 2" tear @ seam in one seat & less than dime size hole in one seat. Seatbacks can use a light sanding, no major gouges. Im located in Southfield MI. (Metro Detroit). Im willing to ship. I believe they came out of a 70/71 Cutlass. I bought them with the intention of converting from bench to bucket. I have since changed my mind and decided to stay with the bench, so thats why Im selling them.
Interested! let's talk! Get back to me at wyteon@charter.net
You're asking for something that doesn't exist. No fullsize GM car was available with bucket seating from 1971-76. The best you'll do is find a 60/40 split bench seat and use the driver seats from two sets, or possibly a set from a Cutlass Salon or Regal S/R. Pontiac GrandAMs used those fancy horsecollar seats.
To use those you'll need the 60/40 floor brackets too.
However- 1966-70 fullsize cars that had bucket seats (Impala/Caprice, Bonneville/Grand Prix, Riviera/Toronado) used the exact same bucket seats as their A-body brethren, so I wouldn't be averse to using them in a 70s big car. I would not use buckets from the downsized 77-85 B cars- they'd get lost in that cavern.
You might find a set of 59-65 GM buckets, but floors for those cars are very different from 71-76 B/C body and I think would take some imagination to mount them.

71-73 Buick Riviera had optional bucket seats and floor console available. They were typical 69-72 GM bucket seats.
Henry
Henry, I stand corrected. I had forgotten Rivieras could have them those years, though I think ragtop was thinking from a B or C body car.
Ragtop, the RWD E-body (Riviera) floor is similar to B&C. Sure you won't reconsider using the A-body buckets you have? I think they'll be the closest thing to a "factory" look you'll find.
