76 Cutlass 442 Ext Trim

I know these are hard to find parts, but wanted to see if someone had any leads on NOS or a solid good piece.

1. Looking for that chrome/plastic hood trim that spans the hood up by the windshield. My original is heavily tarnished.

2. Anyone have leads on NOS wheel molding trims?

I have kept an eye on ebay to no avail. OPGI, parts place, Fusick don't have any, and if they have a part description is is for cores. Tried DVAP down in Arizona and no go.. I have a set I am going to work on removing dings and see if I can make them look good...

I am Alex (Farlo) new to this forums, am on 73-77, but the site is failing..

Any 73 and newer C/S hood molding will work. The Mylar plastic doesn't hold up well. I put a 73 S.S trim on my 77 after polishing. Looks better than the original ever did. NOS wheel well moulding come up on E-bay now and then. Use Google and you will be amazed what you can find. If you have OEM repairing them is not hard , but time consuming. I did three of mine. After 40 years you can imagine the amount of dings on them. I made some little "tools" to bang out the dent , then sand, polish, sand polish. Took about 4 hours each. They look like new now. The 73-77 site is still active. Less traffic than here but still an amazing amount of knowledge on the site.

Will look at seeing what I can do on my wheel well moldings. Just will take time.

Sand stainless? What grit did you use? Type of polish?

Hey alex , I might have a set of wheel well trim in the next couple weeks . Not sure of shape but car does have them on it . I have pulled a few parts off car allready and seen that it had well trim but didn't look to see shape of them ? If you have a Facebook ? I have a page that I have alot of parts on . on face book search allykatt1992@hotmail.com and my page will come up . Go into photos , albums then uploads and you can see some of what I have . Wish I would get on here a little more because I have a stainless hood trim that I just posted on there . Thanks .
