70 W31 Carb
Needed Quadrajet for my 1970 W31, carb number 7040255. As long as it can be restored/rebuilt without to many issues, it's ok, but no restamps. I do have a set of NOS 1970 Cutlass Grilles that i would be willing to trade, if the situation arises.

There are two 7040255 carbs that I know of for sale right now.One is in canada,& the other is in North Carolina. Both have the November/69 build date. These carbs are unique to themselves,as they use a special body & base.they are not the same as a regular 350 carb.I also have the November/69 dated carb,& it is completely restored.I would sell it ONLY if I can find the one with the early-70 date to trade or buy.I've had a few of these cars,& the one I have now was built may 27th.

That's John Ebbs. He's had that car on there a bunch of times, but keeps pulling it thinking it won't bring what he wants,& he doesn't want to set a reserve because ebay will charge him another percentage for that.If he would truly take $3500.00 for that,it would have been gone a long time ago,as there are many of of up in the area that know that there is a lot more than $3500.00 worth of parts on that thing. You could ask if he will separate the carb from the car,& he might even say yes at first, but he is also known for going back on his word,& canceling the deal.

usually, the font is wrong and there is a ridge or an abnormally textured/contoured area in the location of the number. unfortunately, the fraudsters are getting better at this.
can you post any pictures of the numbers?

I have seen that collection. So many cars he buys complete and pays big money. I will give him credit, he is def the guy you want to sell a car to because he has no conception of value. Only thing is that he apparently takes everything apart and never puts it back together or doesn't know how. All in all a very nice guy.
