70 olds o-axle gears

Hello all, I know that gears for these axles are very difficult to find right now. I have checked with the 2 experts that use this site and made calls to confirm myself that no one is making gears for these right now. I am hoping that I can get lucky and find a set of 3.08, 3.23, or 3.42 gears. I do not care which ones I would be happy to buy any of them. If you have a set to sell please contact me. I know this is a shot in the dark but I figured it doesn't hurt to try. Thanks

I now the feeling both cars have the O type axle and need better gear. Have you tried searching online to see if anyone has a set? Jegs says will ship Apr 1st for the 3.42/3.90 sets

Yes, I was on the internet and phone for hours this morning checking threads and sites. I also saw the ship dates but I called Motive and Richmond myself after checking with Summit and Jegs over the phone. Neither place had any. Richmond has no set date when they will be. I am really bummed about this, I don't want to spend the money on a different rear end because my engine, tranny and rear end are all original to the car. I would rather wait to find the parts for mine and put the money into that.

Iwas in a similar situation and it took me 23 years to find my part ...but I found it... You will find it hopefully not as long as it took me

This is the only way you'll get what your looking for. Anyone with an open rear will put a posi unit in one of these rears and use it. They are becoming almost impossible to find.

Smile 70 olds o-axle gears

I have several complete rears, as well as, misc. gears and axles. I just sold my last set of 4.10s (Richmond-discontinued ratio), but I can check to see what I have left. I do have a complete 12-bolt "O" rear end for anyone with a small block race car. It's got 4.66 gears, a spool and brand new Moser axles. We only replaced it because of lack of availability of gears. We needed 4.88s.

I have a set of one-off GM 5:37's for the O-axle. That should wrinkle your undies.

The only reason I ask is
that I find the 2.56 in this 70 Supreme
very streetable, with a 455 C head engine and
Turbo 400 transmission.
Only problem is that it is a one wheel peel.
I like the purr at 3K at 70 mph.
And if I can keep my durn foot out of
it, it seems to get about 16 mpg, believe it
or not, with a 4 bbl.

This is running medium grade 89 octane, with points!

I just picked up a 70 SH coded 3.42 posi rear axle. It's very clean and appears to be in good condition. It rotates freely and the gears look very nice. It will need brake drums, shoes, lines and hardware $1K + shipping. I also have a 70 SJ coded 3.91 posi rear axle $950 + shipping.

It's best to email me.
