'68 H/O parts needed - bumpers, booster, screen, glass

I’m looking for some parts for my ’68 H/O project. I will be in Chicago in a few weeks around Christmas, so I figured I would post this ad in case someone going there has any of these parts.

1. Original 1968 front 442 bumper – I’m looking for nice “survivor type” bumpers that aren’t mangled and rusty. Bumpers needing a re-chrome is fine. The ones on my car are warped, likely due to someone pushing the car around with a tractor while it was in barn storage. I’m probably going to drive my car in its current body condition, so new re-chromed bumpers would look way out of place. I really don’t want to pay shipping on these (unless you know a cheap carrier), so I prefer to find these in the area around Kansas City or Chicago. EDIT - bought rear bumper, now just need front.

2. EDIT - no longer need brake booster.

3. EDIT - Cowl screen purchased

4. EDIT - Alternator Purchased

5. [EDIT: figured out my glass is actually tinted] Tinted '68 driver and passenger door glass with date codes of LX, GX, JX, or IX. Also probably not a shippable item unless you like to live dangerously.

Let me know what you have available. I'm not in a rush, so finding the right parts is more critical than having them rightnow. Thanks!

I am parting out a 68 Cutlass. Have a decent, driver condition front bumper and wire mesh cowl screen. I also have some clear door glass from a 68 GTO, not sure on the date codes though (can try and check this weekend). Im an hour south of St Louis, MO.

That looks promising... how bad is the rust spot on the top of the bumper, by the corner of the grille?

Let me know on the cowl screen and status of door glass once you get a chance, and we can go from there. Thanks!

And if Brett doesn't work out I probably have at least three sets of door glass and I don't mind shipping it

I have the power booster master cylinder which I believe is the original one that came with my 68 442. There is nothing wrong with it. I did not want to send it off for plating so I was able to find a reproduction one and came with a master cylinder as well. The original one that I have has no pitting and is stamped Delco Moraine. I was able to sand blast it and removed the surface rust on it. The reproduction one looks identical to the original and is also stamped Delco Moraine.

So, I'm an idiot... thanks to allyolds68, he saw my window markings showed "Soft Ray", which means they are therefore tinted. Sorry to everyone's time I wasted. I'm actually looking for TINTED door glass with date codes of LX, GX, JX, or IX.

I attached a picture of one of my original quarter/side glass etchings for reference.

Thanks for all the pictures and responses, and I'm sorry for the hassle.

Gary, sending you a PM about the booster in a minute. Thanks.

Here is a pretty nice screen. It came off a '71 or '72 & has the plastic fasteners & a couple of them broke upon removal. The cowl seal is pretty nice if you need it also. The screen has a couple small issues but at least one of them would be hidden under the seal. $35.00 total shipped for the screen if you want it?

Booster has been purchased, have a lead on an alternator, pending deal with Scott on the screen above... list is shrinking.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

fyi, there are different fasteners for the cowl screen. And I've even seen both fasteners used on the same Lansing car. check what you have first

Updated the list so it's current. Tinted glass and the bumpers are left... possible rear bumper from Mark. Thanks to everyone who has helped... lot of great people in the Olds community.

Updated the list. The brake booster I had marked as purchased wasn't going to be suitable for re-plating due to pitting... so I'm still on the hunt for a nice one. Thanks.

Sent pics to Gregori, looks like my booster is saveable since there is no Delco Moraine stamping on it. Taking that off the list.

Got a sweet rear bumper from Mark the other day, so that's off the list too. Now I just need to find a front.

Thanks for all the help so far.
