68 Cutlass S Hood Release

I am missing the release handle and the rod for my '68 Cutlass. Driver quality is fine.

Most people that have one for sale are going to ask you what style you need, paddle (early) or pull (later)

Thanks for responding Mike. The car was produced in January of '68. The part has been missing for years and I'm not sure which style I need. I'm tired of busting my knuckles opening my hood.

a January build should be the pull type. Your core support is slightly different depending on which type you have.

I’ll try to remember tomorrow to post a pic of the PIM page that shows the difference.

There’s some more discussion here about it:

I found a hood release. Thanks to everyone who responded. I have owned this car for 40 years and had no idea that there were two different versions of the hood pulls.

I am still in need of the release handle for my Cutlass. I have the latch, rod, and the bellcrank there. I only need the rod/handle that opens the hood. As stated earlier, the release handle has been missing several years.
