67' Delta 88 Holiday Coupe Rear drums

Edited version: I am the new owner of a 1967 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Holiday Coupe,The car is almost completely original(minus rims and radio) and running, with 95k miles Super Rocket 425- 4 bbl Rochester Quadrajet. Please let me know if there are any tips or tricks for this particular model.

As for the rims, I have three of the original four wheels and hubcaps, and currently on the hunt for the elusive fourth to complete the set. If anyone has any info on stock wheels and hubcaps, it would be greatly appreciated.

But that is not my biggest concern. When I was changing the rear wheels out, I noticed the rear drum on the drivers side was in pretty bad shape. I cannot find any aftermarket replacement drums that fit.

Does anyone know of any interchangeable GM rear drums that are 11inch w/ 5x5 bolt pattern? I have the 1967 Oldsmobile Chassis Service manual and the Fisher Body manual, bit they don't mention any interchangeable parts.

Smile 11" 5x5 rear Drum

I believe the rear drums on a 1967- 1973 Chev .1/2 ton 2 wheel drive pickup are 11" By 2" and are on the 5x5 bolt pattern. Larry

The rears fit:

Those rear brake drums fit -- definititively:

1959 - 1970 OLDS FULL SIZE All -- except 1965 - 1969 OLDS 98 ;

I have them BRAND NEW -- if you would prefer BRAND NEW over USED....

USED -- the question becomes -- how much meat is left?

New is 11.000" -- Discard is 11.090"

Thank you for the advice everyone.

Larry-
I have been researching the 67-73 1/2 ton rear drum, and yes they are 11x2 with 5x5 bolt pattern, but they do not match. The 1/2 ton has an overall depth of 3.5 inches and mine have an overall depth of 4.5 inches. Also the O.D's are different, !/2 ton = 13.3 inches and mine = 15 inches. Do you know if that would make a huge difference? Would I be able to fit those, or would have to change the backing plate also?

I found one set of used rear drums through a local parts store. But they said the drums would be coming from another business out of Washington state for $300, and there is a no return policy.

You can't go by those outside dimensions. Diameter will vary depending on whether the drum has cooling fins or not. Height will vary depending on whether the drum overlaps the backing plate or not. Unfortunately, I don't think the truck drums do work, but for other reasons. All 1977-90 B/C body cars with the big brakes also have 11x2 rear drums with 5x5 wheel bolt pattern, but those don't fit either.

1967 Delta 88 Rear Drum

Here are some pictures of the drum in question. There is a flat spot on one of them. Again, please let me know of any suggestions.

1967 Delta 88 I.D.= 11inch

1967 Delta 88 O.D.= 15

Drum overlaps backing plate

I wouldnt worry too much about the flat spot. If the drum turns true and has good meat for the brakes, then i say your good to go. Use them but keep searching for extras for future use. Desert Valley Auto in ? Arizona, might have some.
