67 98 LS 4dr Roof Rail Molding needed

Does anyone have or know where to source roof rail molding for a 1967 Olds 98 LS 4-Door hardtop .. All the usual places do not have nor repro this so far as I can find.

Any help would be appreciated

From what i understand, the 1967 Olds 98 LS 4Dr with pillar is its own distinct and extinct animal in regards to roof rails

Thank you for trying

David, unfortunately I can't help you out with your part search but I can tell you you're not alone. I also have a '67 Ninety-Eight LS and feel your pain when it comes to trying to locate parts as it appears that nobody remakes them and most of the Ninety-Eights have long since gone to the crusher.

Unless by chance this is what you're looking for? http://www.oldsobsolete.com/products...r-nos-7710853/

Good luck with your parts search!

Thanks but not the part im looking for. Do you have a 4 door LS? If so, what did you do to replace your roof rail molding in the absence of a direct replacement part?? Surely im not the first to have this challenge.

David, I'm not sure if you ever found the molding you were looking for and I'm still not 100% on what exact piece you needed. I just recently got my car back from months at the body shop and haven't inspected the top much to see what exactly you're talking about.

Anyways, there appears to be someone on ebay parking out a '67 Ninety Eight 4 door LS so perhaps he may have what you're looking for? The pictures of the parts look to be in fairly decent shape. Here's a link to the "Vinyl top finish molding" on the off chance it's what you're looking for.

Well, I'm now in the exact same boat you are in (pun intended). I'm ordering new weatherstripping for my car and soon found out exactly what part you are talking about. Apparently because our cars don't have frames around our door windows they are considered hardtops and not a sedan. Even though they are "Luxury Sedans" and have the center post. It took me buying a set of metro door seals and a call to the company this morning to figure that out. And he confirmed that they did not make the roof rail seals.

Have you been able to locate the seals anywhere? I'm contacting all the company's I can think of but haven't had any luck so far.

I have had absolutely no luck locating the roof rails for this car... let me know if you have any better success!

A same body style 1965-70 Cadillac or Electra ought to use the same weatherstripping if it's available at all. Both of them also offered a thin-pillar sedan.

This 65 Electra shows the body style on Buick...

And here on a Cadillac, though it looks like rear door glass is angled at rear top instead of rounded.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping to hear and was going to ask. I had already located the parts for a '67 DeVille 4 door and was hoping that they would be the same style. If not, I was going to try some of the Metro universal roof rail stuff to see if any came close.

David, no for sure solution yet but I've been recently working on it. I bought a seal for a '67 Impala that I had hoped would work and it almost did, but it did leave a small gap around where the wing window meets the normal windows.

I contact Metro Moulded and requested dimensions of some of their universal seals that I'm trying to match up the best I can. Right now, I've pretty well got it narrowed down to the LP 120 or LP 110-X for the TOP of the roof rail (and assumptions are the back door). However, the seal on the A pillar, is of a different extrusion.

So no working replacement as of yet. But my hopes are still high.

JeffK - your hopes were high last time we spoke on this... what was the end result? Did you find the solution to the Roof Rail (Rubber Moulding) for the 67 4 Door 98LS with pillar? *fingers crossed *drumroll

Thanks - David
