66 Toronado - Need Driver Power Window Switch

I'm looking to track down a power window switch for a 66 Toro. Its in the armrest, not on the door panel like later models.

At this point, i dont even care what the condition is, i am just tired of jumping wires to roll my window down...

Also looking for a front door panel pull.

Thanks!

Have you tried to remove, disassemble and clean the one you have?
Not sure how easy those are to do, but the door panel mounted ones were pretty easy to do.

BTW, welcome!

Hey Rob-

Thanks for the quick response. I am actually missing the switch. Im 95% done with restoring the vehicle and this one switch is nowhere to be found.

Serious bummer...

If it's the squarish four-gang switch- that switch was used from around 1962 on into the mid 80s, maybe with just a slight difference in the electrical plug. I'm normally not a fan of cutting wires, but if you get a junkyard switch, get a few inches of the wire harness with it just in case.

I'm pretty sure the one in my 83 Custom Cruiser is the exact same switch, because I used one from a 1983 Ninety Eight in my 69 Toronado when I got tired of taking the switch apart and cleaning it to make windows work.

Thats a good call, and it is the 4 gang switch, 2X2. I was hoping to avoid that, or at least use it as a last measure because the connector on the harness now is in perfect condition. I've had so many cars where that connector is destroyed or corroded out, but, if need be, i will hit the junkyard.

The think I do like about the older switches though is that they're chrome pot metal and not chromed plastic.

But, you're point is well taken.

Thanks.

Try sending a PM to John, as he might have a switch from this car:

Hope he has it!

Hey john- Tried to PM you again but got an error that you've exceeded your message quota.

no need for pics. if the switch works, or worked when it was pulled, i'll take it.

i can either send you paypal or whatever method of payment you prefer.

Why don't you shoot me a PM and I'll send you my email address.

Thanks for the quick response, too. I've turned my garage upside down looking for this switch and its nowhere to be found.

Just buy the switch from John. As soon as that switch arrives in the mail, you will find you old switch in the most obvious place you did not look.
Happens to me often.
Just consider it a spare!
