If you can teach us the differences that would be good info to have

I have some of the coils but usually they have no rod
a clue which rod is what would be great to have.

I am not sure , maybe the difference in the rod arm is in the application: toro, A body, or big car; as the coils and rods i have came from numerous cars including both 66 cutlass , 442, toro, and big car. same for the 67 units i have. I have a stock 66 442 with the OEM carb and choke so I can match that application up.

A good dunk in evaporust will have those looking very nice.
Much prettier than the units here in the Rust Belt.

Are the lower ones auto trans or manual? 4 bbl or tri-carb?

That was inherently stupid on my part....66 442 auto trans?

I don't think trans made a difference in the choke coil.

Been a while since I looked those up in the PN manual though.

Pretty sure it goes:

66-67 exc. Toro
66-67 Toro
1968-9 [all?] 4-bbl

Then by 1970 we had the big round black coil on the carb. Like 2-bbls have had for years.

this is what I pulled from an ebay auction, so maybe trans ( jetaway ) vs 4 speed or th400 and a/c does matter? this info below was for the 29984 B-1 unit. I have many 29984 B-1 units some with toro rods so think this was an a/c unit.

I also know that unit 33762 is from a 67. what I need to know is what is the correct unit for 400 442 with auto jetaway and A/C if the info below is correct than what part does not exclude jetaway with a/c ?

  • 1966 V8 330 c.i. all transmissions (excludes Jetaway with A/C) Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl Carburetor
  • 1966 V8 400 c.i. A/T (excludes Jetaway with A/C) Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl Carburetor
  • 1966 V8 400 c.i. all transmissions (excludes F-85, A/C, & 4-4-2 with Jetaway) Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl Carburetor
  • 1966 V8 425 c.i. A/T (excludes Jetaway with A/C) Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl Carburetor (NOTE: will not fit 425 c.i. with low manifold)
  • 1966 V8 425 c.i. A/T (excludes F-85, A/C, & 4-4-2 with Jetaway & A/C) Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl Carburetor (NOTE: will not fit 425 c.i. with low manifold)

Just finding your thread. Do you still have choke for 67 olds 442? If so, I am interested in purchasing.
