I have to say after looking at pictures of a '64 hood, they do look very similar. Would you care to measure the S and I will measure the letter height on my trunk hen I get to the shop tomorrow. Thanks

The letter "O" on the trunk of a '65 Cutlass is 5/8" tall and 1 1/16" wide. I need the "S".
The Old Mobile joke is wearing thin.

65 S letter

Remember the S starts to point in at the ends like the D. Does not measure the same as an O on the ends. Measure from the center of the letter edge to edge. Top to bottom. If not, ok. Trying to help. I'm told that the tapered letters are from a 64 f85coupe that did not have the full tail panel. Instead they had the oldsmobile spelled out in individual letters with a horizontal chrome strip above and below it. That makes sense since my 64 442 was a cheapie club coupe. Only had one coupe that was built that cheaply. Rubber carpet and all.

The letters are not tapered as far as thickness part, they are square to the face of the letter. Can't tell so much, but are those you have tapered?

65 s letter

I have a almost full set of the flat thickness, missing one letter D but think I have another letter to make up for it but that one D letter isnt in nearly the nice condition of the rest of the set if I throw it in there. I have a full set of the tapered thickness and are really nice. Took these off my car back in 1979. The tapered thickness letters are the same dimensions as the flat thickness letters except for the tapered thickness. Both sets need to be cleaned up but are very nice. I have an extra set of flat letters but really not as nice, Pitts. As I've said, PM me.
