I am looking for the light that mounts in the back of the 4 speed console. Does anyone have or know where to get one?

There is not a light in the rear of the 4 speed console. There's a cast bezel with a lens that was painted the same color as the console. I have heard of convertibles only having a light there but have never seen one myself.

 

I have the lens if needed.

That's not the lens. That's the finish bezel for the inside of the console compartment. The lens fits into the rear cast bezel on the very lower rear of the console base.

Hmm interesting. Why have a lens if no light?

 

The lights in the 4-speed console were discontinued prior to 66 for an unclear reason. The repo lense is available from OPG and needs to be painted before install. I have enclosed a picture of the one I just did when I rebuilt my console.. They didn't have to redo the molds for the console either. The repo console was not changed either. Hope this helps.

I redid one yrs ago and the cast piece that the lens fits in was chrome underneath the red primer,. I've stripped other since and that wasn't the case. Anyone else run into that ?

I have an extra. I scraped thru the black, red oxide and gray. It is a shiny material however I don't know it's chrome. I believe it is a casting so maybe it was chrome plated to give a smoother finish. Thats all I can tell you about it.

I left mine chrome and didn't paint the lens,. It looked great,. Weird though as I've had several since that weren't chrome.
