64 cutlass lower quarter panel/trunk drop off

Hi y'all,

I'm installing a trunk pan in a 64 cutlass club coupe. I'm looking for a driver's side trunk drop off and or lower quarter panel assembly. Located in Iowa but willing to pay for shipping or travel for the right part.

Thanks

Trevor

Hi Trevor
I may have what you need. I've got a set of quarter panels I tried to sell as full quarters. They have dents that were not worked out well but filled with bondo. The drivers side looks like someone bent up the lip of the trunk floor to access the area under it. Attached are some pictures of the area I think you are describing. Check them out and let me know if this is the right part of the quarter panel your looking for. John

John,

I may be able to make that work. I need the lower quarter just above the body line from the wheel well back. Do you happened to have the passenger side as well? Let me know a price and shipping to 50250

Thanks!

Yes, I do have the other side as well. They're buried pretty far back in the clutter, but I'll try to get some photos of the other side as well. If we work something out I'll put tape where I think you want it cut and confirm that before I cut anything up. I'm semi-retired and work part time so I'll try to get to this in the next few days, but it may be the weekend before I can get to it. John

Hi Trevor
I dug out the quarter panels this morning and took more pictures of them. The passenger side has a couple small holes showing in the lower quarter panel. I know the drivers side has a layer of bondo due to the hammer marks on the inside of the trunk. I'm guessing they "sorta" hammered out the dents and put a layer of bondo to smooth it out. I would like to see if I can grind away some of the paint/bondo so we can be sure its solid enough underneath for you to work with. John

Hey John, that sounds great let me know what the status of the left side quarter is. I really only need the lower section just slightly above the body line and the trunk extension. Looks like the passenger side has some sort of trim mounting hole.

Thanks

Well, I found there are holes in the passenger side lower. The drop off looks good, the trunk floor looks good. Actually everything looks good except for the holes rusted through the skin! I'll make another post of the drivers side to keep this from getting too long.

Then the drivers side I'm not seeing holes, but there are two places where it looks like there's a glob of metal like they welded something before laying on a pretty thick layer of bondo. I also have some better pictures of the backside of the quarter panel, from inside the trunk area.

This is where the inner fender well joins with the quarter panel. I'm not sure what's going on here, it looks kinda bumpy.

Not perfect pieces by any means. But I know these quarter panels are hard to find. Do you have any questions or want to see anything not clear in the photos?

compared to what I'm working with the drivers side looks pretty good. I'm mainly concerned with extension but as you can see there's a fair bit of rust down there
