Now I have to figure out how to get the broken bolts off of the motor where the exhaust manifolds hook up .

access to a mig welder?

weld a loose fitting nut on it..does 2 things...heat and a way to get a grip...

ive done it many times..they usually just back right out...easy to do

get a nut big enough to slide over the shank...cut the shank off if too long and just weld the hole up, melting the nut to the shank..it'll come right out...

I don't have access to a welder unfortunately .

I never heard of Silikroil , but I do have PB Blaster. Which one is better ?

I had an idea though ..... If I can't weld a nut on the bolt like marxjunk said , I was possibly going to put two pieces of toothed metal on each side of the bolt and clamp them to the bolt itself so it don't turn . I would have to spray a lubricant ( like mentioned above ) and heat the area it's screwed into , and hopefully it will come out without breaking . Worse case scenario , I can get them drilled and tapped for $25 a bolt at a race shop . Of course I would have to take the heads off which need new gaskets probably anyhow , along with the leaking intake manifold gasket as long as I'm there .

that sounds like vice grips

which is better probably same stuff lol ive used both, its hard to quantify which is better, ive had successes and failure w both.

link to silikroil
Amazon Amazon

I would heat it, spray it w PB (or what you have) hit it w a hammer and vice grip it w out wrecking it, if it doesnt move spray it , and repeat again tomorrow!!!

I tried vise grips but they spin on the bolt . I have a brand new pipe wrench with some nice sharp teeth I was going to maybe clamp the open end portion of it to get a better grip on the bolt , but I'm more then likely going to have to do like you said and just spray it everyday for like a week , heat it good , and hope the damn bolt don't break on me .

heres what i have seen at machine shops for steel and aluminum..works well

they heat the bolt red hot and whack it with a hammer on the end..they make the shank that is showing swell and shocks the threads..the heat and the hammer loosens them and they almost fall out,,,ive never tried it, but i watched a 90 lb 60 year old woman at a machine shop here in town remove 8 bolt in about 15 minutes....pretty impressive..her husband died, and she was running the show..and knew the ropes, thats for sure

ive seen it at other shops too, i just got a front row seat this time...

there was between 1/4 and 3/4s of the bolt sticking out on each, she used a torch, heated them till bright cherry red, took a 2 pound ball peen, hit it til the cherry was dull/grey, put the torch down, grabbed vice grips and they just backed out with little to no effort..impressive to me, but i'm sure just simple science working

the heads where off the motor and on a steel bench
