455 quadrajet wanted

I need a used replacement for my 69 455 7029251 unit that is warped beyond repair, anything that is rebuildable or working pre 75 preferably. I have the large valve "C" heads with mild cam headers 2.5 exhaust.

The airhorn and body are 1/8 inch out, even tried double gasket, fuel just spills all over the place....Just want to get the car on the road for what is left of the good weather. will work on trying to fix the original carb over the winter.

Note that some carb overhaulers have special brackets that they put carb bodies into, cinch them down, and then heat them at around 400 degrees to take out the warpage. I've seen it done a couple of times, with success.

yea, I've read about that, i'm going to look into trying to bring the original back to life over the winter, perhaps while the wife is out of town for a few days I can get the full use of the oven.

Steve, did you ever make a deal to sell the carb? I'm still interested in it. Thanks, Bob.
