Was the car originally a stick, or do you need all the clutch linkage, etc.?
Console car?
Which automatic, if so? [makes a difference]
If converting from auto on the column, do you need a steering column? Color?
Need all answers to do it right.

4 speed

Hi, My name is Tim.If you are wanting the complete 4 speed set up,I have what you need.I have a Muncie 4 speed tranny, bellhousing, flywheel, shifter, linkages, etc.T his set up came out of a 1971 Cutlass smallblock car.You probably do not need the console or column I have though seeing that yours is a 66.The mileage on the car was 66,000 miles when I pulled it from the car.I am asking $ 2,500 for everything, but again since you may only need the tranny ,bellhousing ,shifter ,etc.,I would take less. Thanks,Tim e-mail at TAA 442 @aol.com

Oldsmobiledave, you are correct, but as I stated he would only need or use the tranny, flywheel, bellhousing as I said at a reduced cost that I offered for everything .I may also be able to get the rest of the parts he would need specifically for the 66.Just offering. Thanks,Tim

Question stick conversion

You also need to see if the crankshaft in the engine that you are using is machined for a pilot bearing/bushing. If not, there is a "band-aid" type adaptor, but you may need to shorten the input on your transmission so that it doesn't bottom out in the rear of the crankshaft.

Don't be easily discouraged. We're just trying to point out things to check before you jump into a project. The original engine isn't really important; the one that you are using NOW is the one that you need to check. Also, there may be other parts out there that are more in line with your budget. Be patient.
