1973 Cutlass S or 442 Left quarter panel
Hello, I am new to the forum but have been reading random posts for a while now. I recently purchased my friends old 1973 Cutlass S. The car is in great shape except for the Left side quarter panel rotting out on the bottom. I am only 23 years old so this car is twice as old as I am. So Any information regarding the topic will help a great deal.
I know the 74 and 73 have slightly different quarter panels. I was wondering if anybody knew the difference between them because the 74 quarter panel is available for sale from various sources.
Also if anybody knows where i could acquire the correct Left side quarter panel and possibly the right side that would be great. I would rather replace the panel then fix it. I can post pictures of the damage when i get home.

Welcome to Oldsmobile. I really like the 73, think its a sweet looking car. I personally would love to have one, 4 speed of course. I think that body style has it own forum as well as some owners here, and alot of knowledge here. Yes please post some pics, hopefully someone will know where the quarters are.

That's fabulous that you purchased your friend's 1973 Cutlass S! They are great cars. I'm happy to read that a young person is interested in a classic American car. The quarter panel for a 1973 Cutlass S will be extremely difficult to find. The entire rear section around the sidemarker light and rear bumper, and taillight housing are completely different than the 74-75 Cutlass. No one reproduced quarter panels for a 73, and the reproduction ones for 74-75 have significant fitment problems so I'm told.
There's actually several things on a 73 that are one year only, and were changed in the 1974 models.
There's lots of knowledgeable people here, and the 73-77 Oldsmobiles do have their own forum. http://73-77olds.com I know the forum has had issues with moderators and allowing new members, but it's still a good site to read and has tons of info.
