Anyone have a used left side (drivers) open door mechanism that works for a 72 Cutlass S 442? There are two types and I don't know which is which. I have a W29 442 package with the bucket seat interior. I don't know if that's called a standard interior or not. It is in the OPGI catalog as a CH26676 with picture. I do not have the GM part number but if you do please send it along. Can't seem to find one on line.
Thanks,
Dan
The difference in the door handle transmissions is the length of the shaft the door handle connects to. If you have the chrome plate between the armrest base and the door panel you need the mechanism with the longer shaft.
To help visualize what the other member is saying here's a few pictures of the part you need. Its likely that the spring broke, which happens on these. But you need to be sure and get the right length shaft one.
The car is going in to the shop for work in March and I wanted to get a jump on the parts so can you give me a price on 1 of each? I will send you back the the one I don't use. No refund expected.
thanks,
Dan
Am of belief LR door, one, in four door cars is often the same. The LR door is used the least. Not too many four door donors out there anymore, unfortunetly.
