You know that in 72 the factory 4 spoke wheel and center caps were black. The tan one you are describing is the 'Starfire' wheel that came with the Omega and is smaller (14.5") instead of the larger 15.5" black wheel.

thanks, I didn't know that, I would even be more interested knowing its a smaller wheel as long as it can still bolt up.

Yes,the smaller diameter wheel will still bolt up.The '73-'77 Cutlass also had a saddle colored 4-spoke wheel. I have one and have a saddle colored horn pad to match.
Sorry to tell you that I don't want to sell. They are on eBay from time to time and maybe someone here has one. Good luck---it took me a while to find a nice one that wasn't all nicked up or sticky.

You need to take into account the gage cluster and the column you have. Pretty much ANY late 60's 70's or up to mid 80's wheel will bolt up to that column. A 14.5" wheel may obscure parts of the gages unless you have tilt. The stock steering wheel is also 15.5", but has a large open space to view the cluster. And, it's not as thick as the sport wheels.

I'm basing my comments on the fact that I replaced my stock wheel with the N34 4 spoke wheel a number of years ago. While it's ok (because it's 15.5"), when I add the tilt column to the car, it will be perfect. I tried smaller wheels (like Grant) that were 14 or 14.5" and they blocked the view to the speedo really badly. Just thought you might like some comparisons.

The sport steering wheel would have the black rim,but the hub & button would be interior color. My 72 has the same dark saddle interior, and came with the sport wheel when new. I have a spare dark saddle horn button,if anyone has a sport wheel.the hub is cast aluminum, and can be painted the correct color.
The later sport wheels were slightly smaller, and the rims were colored to match the interiors, but they will fit & function the same.

thanks for all the feedback. I guess just to play it safe, I will go back to my original thoughts and try to locate the factory original steering wheel. I already have the black sports wheel and don't like the way it looks and feels in my pretty plain cutlass convertible.

Hijack...
I think it's oddly cool that there's another person named Doug in NJ with a green '72 Cutlass Supreme! What are the odds??

Good luck with the steering wheel hunt. I personally like the 4 spoke black wheel.

I also have a saddle one. I changed my interior to black so I have a steering wheel for a 68 cutlass. It's in rough shape but I heard you can get them restored. I have no need for it and will send it to you if you want.

I'll take a look at my parts car when I get home. I know the drivers side piece is there and looks OK at a glance, but will get actual condition and some pics when I get home.
