1971 Cutlass Deluxe steering wheel parts

Hi, I have a 1971 Cutlass Supreme that I am looking to install a black deluxe steering wheel except I do not have the items to secure the steering wheel pad to the wheel nor the parts to make the horn operate. I am changing over from a used (in need of replacement) sport steering wheel can anyone help me out I live in Massachusetts?

I was at Desert Valley Auto Parts last week, and saw one of those steering wheels in their yard. (it was black too) They're not cheap, but you can always check it out. www.dvap.com

I have a stack of extra steering columns, most have the wheels on them. Can you post pictures of what you have so I know I'm looking at the correct wheel for parts? John

I have the black steering wheel and I have the black horn pad but I need the parts that connect the pad to the wheel. In the Chasis Service Manual (page 9A-9) the parts are listed as the insulator, spring, cup, contact plate and spacers.

OK, I've checked out the Chassis Service Manual and I should be able to come up with those items.

Back to your first post. Most people would rather have the sport wheel. What's wrong with yours? If any of the parts are salvageable, like the hub or horn button there's good demand for those items. You won't have any trouble selling them if you create a parts for sale post. John

Thanks for helping me out. As far as the sports wheel is concerned it has nicks and such but my car originally came with the deluxe wheel and I took it off and sold it (2003). I just like the look because I dont't see many of the deluxe steering wheels and I was able to come across a nice wheel so I figured I would switch back. I will keep the sport setup just in case I decide to switch again

How about a tilt column for a '71 Cutlass in Sienna?

Hi Mike, I already have a tilt column (black) in mine. As I stated in my previous post I'm only looking for the hardware to attach the horn pad to my wheel. I appreciate the help I'm getting from the site.

I know this is an old thread but my car is the deluxe wheel in black. Do any of you guys have a good wheel? My horn pad is decent, the wood grain pattern is just scratched off. The wheel itself though is all cracked.

You're better off creating your own "parts wanted" thread than tagging onto an old thread.

Thanks Allen, not sure how to tag onto an old thread though.

Air Vegas, no problem I have everything. Mine is still on the car working.
How is the condition of yours? Any cracks in the wheel itself? How about the wood grain on the horn pad?
