As title suggests I'm searching for an original 1111979 distributor to suit 1970 Olds 442 with 455/4BL/OAI/AT.

 

That's a W30 distributor, think its '70 only.

 

Vader had one listed recently.

 

If your car is not a W30,just a 442,then you would want the 1111982 distributor.

 

The one Vader had listed has been sold. Tried to buy it, but someone was quicker than me. :-(

I have an original '64-'70 Parts Manual which states:

1111982 1970/ALL 455 V-8 2BC
1111981 1970/ALL 455 V-8 4BC - EXC OAI
1111977 1970/344 ST W/OAI
1111979 1970/344 AT W/OAI

344 covers all 442 models. The manual does not make any specific mention of the W-30 for this part (it does elsewhere in the manual for other parts), so since I can confirm from the build sheet that my car was built as a 442 (but not W30) with AT (including Hurst Shift) and OAI then the 1111979 distributor should be the correct one, going by the manual?

The 979 is W30 only.
You need the 982.
