OK. Here's the story. I have an opportunity to get a very low milage southern chassis and drive train (just the rolling frame and drive train only). It's a 1970 350 2b turbo 350, drum brake four door chassis. Here's my idea to make a low cost driver. I'll cut four inches out of the frame (I've done this before) and then see if anyone has a low cost (cheap) 2 door hardtop body for sale or trade to put on this chassis. Now if you think this is more “dream” than “reality” maybe I'd find this body in good shape and located near by. You think I'm crazy, right! I know, I know. The odds of finding a good body not attached to a chassis is pretty slim. It's just that I hate to see this perfect chassis and drive train get parted out the rest of the way. There's a decent 71 'S' body on eBay right now,but you will need to fetch doors and a trunklid.
You might be better off looking for a complete car that has a decent body,but a bad frame.
