As you see from Nov 73 parts book, 3.028 405373 fits all 64-70 carlines except station wagon/Vista, certain 68-9 low compression engines, and 1970 with the Evaporative Emissions System. So, no difference in regular engines compared to W30 unless the car has EES.

With that in mind don't let some unscrupulous seller try to convince you W30 had its own specific fuel cap to justify outrageous pricing.

Chris, I'll trade you an NOS 405373 cap if you can find a used 405373 cap.

I’m pretty sure this is the right cap at least it is for my ‘69 442
I’d be willing to sell for $40

Curious - What's the 407010 1970 E.E.S cap look like?

The original fuel cap part numbers, as found in the parts books printed in 1969 through at least 1971, are different for 1969, 1970, and 1971. For 1970 the original part number is 405373 and it looks like that pictured by Ap6954. Also see the 1970 Service Manual page 8-13, Figure 8-10D. I can't attest that all the 1970 Oldsmobiles (except wagons and NA9 equiped cars) were assembled with 405373. The few supposedly original cars I've been able to check had something different.

Over the years I've collected multiple NOS caps trying to figure what the different ones look like and what was the correct one for my application might be. Pretty much inconclusive. Maybe I can take a group photo with lables and post it here.
