1969 Muncie back drive bracket

Good afternoon all,

I have done some extensive searching on here and this was the only picture / ad that I’ve found of one for sale awhile back and it’s sold. Does anyone have one of these that they’d be willing to part with? It’s the only piece that I’m missing out of my back drive system.

That's a tough one. I found a repro for my 69 project a long time ago, but can't remember who had it. It is the right dimensions but not identical.

There's another part on the Abody cars (and readily available) that would likely be perfect as a donor piece but I'd need someone to do some measuring on a repro or original to know if the part I'm thinking of would work. If so, making the rest of that wouldn't be too hard to do

Curious: What exactly is this? I don't see anything like it as part of a Muncie 4-speed trans.

this is the same bracket (someone else’s) and where it bolts to the side cover of trans.

NY69W30 - thanks for posting that pic. That bracket is not present on a '68 4-4-2 with Muncie 4-speed, and I couldn't find it in any of the Muncie diagrams. What attaches to the bracket?

No problem at all. 69 was the first year with the reverse backdrive setup. A cross shaft gets installed into that collar that attached to the frame, then up with a rod to a bracket on the steering column which activates when the trans is shifted into reverse. I’ll attach a 69 manual pic below for your reference as well.

NY69W30… if memory serves me correctly, I believe this bracket was also used on Buick A body 3 speed cars also… but I am sure those cars are rare so this may be another avenue to search.
