1968 Cutlass Cvt. front frame rails

Looking for just the front frame section on both sides starting from behind the steering gear box forward (as a point of reference) for an otherwise pristine '68 Cutlass convertible.

My understanding is that '68 - '72 are the same and convt and non-convt are the same near the front.

Thanks.

Dave

125.00 cut as you wish in Austin, Tx. Have dozens of them.

What is wrong with the frame pictured?
Just the steering gear attach spot?
You might consider just replacing that small portion.

The outsides of each are corroded and they were horribly patched. My plan is to weld in the bad sections with identically shaped sections that will make it look like it was never repaired. Not to try to fool anyone, more just because the rest of the car is mint and I want the frame to look the same.

I have some that are already cut off right in front of the engine crossmember. Very nice. $50.00 for the pair.

It's only the steering box. Is that important?

j/k

sounds you are on the right track, a pictorial would help others with that issue- I have run into it.

Octania,

I can post progress pics in the main section when the time comes. Right now I am pulling the engine so I am probably a month or so out from fixing the frame.

Oldolds88,

I think my current frame rails are in good enough shape that I just need to patch them. Otherwise your suggestion is a good one.

Thanks
Dave
