1968 cutlass convertible center console auto tranny
I just got a 68 cutlasses convertible and I am in need of a center console the car is an automatic with a 350. I don't know any more than that at this time. Thank you
I have a driver quality one in gold; if interested e-mail for pics etc.: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.
these are painted so can be painted what ever color you need. The same console 67-69 the shift indicator insert is different between two speed and 3 speed automatics and the 69 has a lock feature listed in the shift indicator. The shifters are the same for all three speed automatics but the 2 speed automatic does not have the same shift detents. Otherwise same shifter. Hope this helps.
The two speed insert and detent can be modified to fit & function with the 3 speeds. You then need the 3 speed shift indicator and plastic shifter plate seal available at several vendors. The rear of the shifter plate hole needs to be cut out so the shift handle can go down into 1st. Did this car originally have the console option? If not you need more than just the console. Steering column floor shift housing or entire column, floor shift speedometer, console mounting brackets, light & NS Switch wire harness, shift cable to trans and bracket on trans pan rail for said cable.
