Looking for a set of 1966 SS1 wheels in 14” .Wheel vintiques makes repops in 14 x 6, Does anyone know if somebody makes 14 x 7” chrome early SS1 wheels? Or does anyone have a very nice set of originals for sale? I just realized the SS1 wheels on my 66 are the later models with beauty rings. Prefer the correct wheels.

You've still got stock brakes on that one, correct?

There are several kinds of SSI made by Olds
14x6 drum brake only all chrome: 66-69 (your car would have come with these if it came with SS wheels)
14x6 disc and drum, all chrome, limited run, 69
14x6 disc and drum, beauty ring 70-71 (you have these)
14x7 disc and drum, all chrome, limited run, 71.

You might be interested in the latter, the 14x7 all chrome 1971 limited run wheels. I have a couple sets of the 14x6 69 drum and disc wheels for mine.

I am certain 14x7 SSIs were made repro, but I do not know the details.

 

I've got a bunch taking up space. You're welcome to pick through them. I wouldn't classify any as "very nice", though. They're driver at best.
I tried to give them away once. Some clown wanted me to drive 2 1/2 hrs to meet him. They're FREE FFS! Still $FREE.99 if you want them.

 

yes, stock brakes..71 14 x 7 all chrome would be great but I cannot seem to find a repop on these. I can get a repop 14 x 6 which would fit my stock brake setup etc. I just wasn’t sure if they would look right with the 225/70/14” tires currently on the car? I currently have the ss1 69-70 units with trim rings etc. trying to get it closer to correct

I found a repopulated set of 14 x 8' all chrome ss1, that should work fine with 225 tires I would suspect..doesn"t look like anyone makes a 14 x 7" wheel all chrome ss1

 

I just got off the phone from wheel vintique, they do make a 14 x 7' ss1 wheel. However they are moving there w/h to Chattanooga and don"t have any unstuck right now. They removed them from the w/h sp as not to cause back orders while moving the w/h.. Smart. wish all would do this. However he said around April they will have them back in stock. So I will wait. Answered my own question, I should have called before posting this..

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see above post. But I definitely bought them and they've been great wheels.

 

I think both my 442 and my H/O have that tire size on that rim size. 225/70/14 on 14x6. It looks good.

I have the buick sport chrome wheels with cutlass center caps - look almost like the olds wheels the five spokes are slightly curved.
