I had a spindle break the other night onmy 64 Dynamic88. It was the drivers side. I was thinking about doing a disc brake upgrade and all new bushings and joints while it was apart. I ya e not been able to locate a spindle aftermarket so I figured I would try here. Anybody got a spindle they will part with or know of a spindle that will fit this car? Thanks
1963 and 1964 full-size except for Jetstar 88 are the same spindle. I should have one somewhere as I parted a couple of these cars out. Probably $80 plus the shipping.
Here's the spindle. However, it appears that contrary to both Hollander Interchange and my circa-'65 Olds parts book, '63 and '64 full-size LH spindles are not the same. This spindle came from a '63 98 and has LH threads (i.e. the spindle nut tightens by turning to the left). That seeming odd to me, late last week when I was in a salvage yard I checked the spindle on a '64 98 and that nut tightened to the right
. Not sure if all '63's have LH spindle nut threads or not but this is the only LH '63-'64 spindle I've got at the moment.
