I just bought the car (posted over in newbie forum earlier) and even though the wipers run, they are real finicky. Had a guy look at them and he thinks the motor may just need a going over, perhaps a clean and realignment of the parts. If it is not successful then I'd be in the market for a new/used one. If anyone has an extra or know someone who does, let me know!
