1959 Ashtray light

Not sure what it is like but my drivers ashtray is missing the light?

Passenger one has a little green rectangle above the ashtray but drivers side is missing a hole is there where it goes.

Is this missing a light? What does it look like?

The lighted green jewel over ashtray is one of those things that made an Oldsmobile an Oldsmobile. Even my 83 Custom Cruiser wagon has it. A comforting friendly glow even if you don't use the ashtrays!

George, the thing may have fallen out behind the dash somewhere. Feel around at the lower dash's lip. If not, you need a parts car. 59 and 60 may be the same.

Mine was missing one also. I had a green filter from one of my extra 67 cutlass turn signal indicators which i used in its place, slightly different color and fit but works with a little trimming. A good temporary fix
