You must have one of the 53's with a dynaflow in it. I don't understand post #2. Must have responded to the wrong thread.

No apology needed. It happens and it is usually at the end of the thread where the related threads come up. It is also fairly common with new users and we have all done it. Hope you are enjoying it on this website.

Thank you for the reply Chris.. Reviewing the pix you attached I noted that the bumper shown is similar to mine, but very different. The lic light on my car is attached to the gravel shield, not in the bumper guards. In addition the inner attachment points are different than mine. they are slightly indented into the gravel shield with the rubber gasket indented also.
I was very pleasantly surprised when my car showed up from the St Luise area, The man that sold me the car claimed the car was cancer free, and the pix backed up that statement, however, in the real world photos can be adjusted to make things look good. The only cancer I found in the entire body was a small area in the right corner of the trunk. When we took the rear bumper off we did find some debris stuck between the bumper and the rubber seal, nothing significant that could not be washed off with a scrub brush.
Waiting for my '53 chassis manual to show up to see what the book shows, Wm

A Dynaflow car would have been PNDLR. What he has is commonly called slant-pan HydraMatic. Park position didn't appear until the 1956 Jetaway HydraMatic. Up till then putting the transmission in R with engine stopped actuated a parking pawl.
