Thinning the inventory a bit. All the plastic ones have a crack or issue except for the very bottom one. $15.00 for any of the cracked ones & $40.00 for the bottom one. Three of the metal ones are the same, one is different. Not sure what it belongs to. $30.00 each for the metal ones plus shipping on all.

When did they use the metal ones? All my cars have had the plastic covers (well the auto trans ones).

Not 100% sure but I believe 69 was the last year for the metal ones.

 

thats my understanding also. have two 69s with original drivetrains and those have metal. have a 70 with original drivetrain and it is plastic

 

Yes i think so to. But you can use the metal on any turbo 350 and 455. Which i prefer.

 

I had mentioned this subject in a previous thread, several years ago I bought a very original , and very gulf coast corroded '70 Olds 98 for the power plant. It had a metal converter dust cover, I did not get the manufacture date at the time. I did keep the dust shield.

 

Maybe another case of using up what they had at the plant?

 

That is what I would have suspected as well, just suggesting that they did spill over into '70.
