metal to metal

Going to have to replace the trunk lid on my 68 Cutlass because there is rust in the trailing edge of the lid above the bumper. Had a guy that has been doing these kinds of things for 30 some odd years tell me to use something called metal to metal. Anybody know what this is and how it works, pros and cons?

He is talking about use a product called ALL METAL. It is a filler that cures like metal. You can magnetize it. I used it on my first restore and am using it on my 68 restore. But if you have rust your body guy should cut out the bad and weld in new metal then use ALL METAL as the filler. It is a lot more expensive than "Bondo".

What ALL METAL does compared to other fillers, it wont allow moisture thru it therefore restricting the promotion of rust. But again I would not just put it over rust.
