Original 0 mile 1972 442 350 Engine
First, this isn't mine.
I was contact by someone that had this interesting story about a unique engine. $7,500 unique, not for me. Still a cool story. You really don't come across many 40+ original motors with no use.
Here is a 1972 442 engine, 350 cu in., short block with cam and chain, type 410452 S2A. It has never been used, has original box, all numbers match, original spec sheet, etc. The engine was ordered from a local dealership in '72 for a customer who bought a 442. The customer never picked up the spare engine. When the dealership went out of business in 1987, it was bought from them and has kept it ever since. My friend (owner) had the hopes of finding another 442 to replace the one he fixed up and sold but has never been able to do so.

P.S. doubt it change much, but I hate it when people use pictures several years old to try to sell something.

It's got rust in the cylinders and on the head sealing surfaces. It needs a complete rebuild.
After that, it won't be a zero mile factory engine anymore.
The only person who could possibly be interested would be a collector who wanted to keep it as-is, and I doubt that he exists (and if he does, he's not looking to collect a 1972 motor - he's looking for something more emblematic).

By the way, if this is a 1972 350, it doesn't matter if it's for a 442 or not, it's simply an SBO 350 like a hundred thousand others built that year.

I'm sorry, but "all numbers match" WHAT? A crate motor has no VIN derivative and it if isn't in a car, there's no VIN to match to. Sorry, but this is a stupid statement by a seller who has no clue.
By the way, if this is a 1972 350, it doesn't matter if it's for a 442 or not, it's simply an SBO 350 like a hundred thousand others built that year.
