70 Vista Cruiser Frame

i don't have pictures yet but i have a frame from a 70 Vista Cruiser. it is a very nice frame. the body mount holes are all nice and do not need any work. there is very little pitting but there is some. i don't think any of the pitting is that deep. this is from an Arizona car. it was owned by the state of Arizona. send me a PM if you are interested.

also, does anyone know what all years or other brands this would fit? if there is no interest here i will post it to feeBay but would like to know what all it fits.

Here's another question. Since this is a fully boxed frame could a person cut a section out to shorten it and use it under a convertible? I know the rear shock mounts are different, but is there any other differences? If if could be modified without too much trouble that might open up a whole new market for it. John

i thought of that. i don't have one here now to compare it to but i think you would have to cut this one shorter in the middle and cut the back off (somewhere in front of the axle area) then use a hardtop rear section. the Vista frame is much beefier from just in front of the axle to the back. i think it could be done but i am far from an expert on it. i think you would have to be desperate for a nice convertible frame to do it.

i have very little. i have some nice front doors and some pieces of trim. the front half of the body and floor pans are nice. (from the back door openings and to the fire wall including floor pans) interior is shot from the Arizona sun. i have soft ray door glass for all 4 doors. the back glass may be good but not sure. top glass is bad or sold already.

I am looking for a complete power lock setup for a Vista. Slim chance in finding it but just have to ask...

The contours of the rails, before the lower control arm mounts, are a little more gradual,to stretch it out for a 4-door or Vista.I considered it once myself, but way too much frankenstein work involved.Great for a flat-top wagon.Somebody has to be looking for that frame.

the only other thing i thought of was if someone had a bad front section to there convertible frame they could weld this front section the there back section as long as there convertible back section was cut far enough forward.
