455 Olds Engine For Sale

This is a 1972 Olds 455 engine that we have taken out of our 65 Olds Cutlass. The video below has all of the details about the engine and if you need more information please do not hesitate to email or give me a call. My phone number is in the video. This engine is currently located in Mesa, Arizona. Willing to pallet and ship engine. This is a solid engine that has been road tested. This engine has no more than 2,000 miles on it since it's rebuild. We are switching to GM LS6 power. It is a great engine with LOTS of torque. We have $12,000+ just in parts and labor invested in this engine. Oil pan to air cleaner is included in the sale price. $8000.00 OBO.

Please see this youtube video for more information.

Looks like a real nice engine, but how come it was painted gold like the 350 instead of blue for the 455 if it was from 72?

I'm sure if you posted some casting numbers and such it would help the guys that are looking for a match with their car.

Best of luck,

Tony

Yeah, that does sound a bit pricey for 330hp from a 455...

Hey guys,

I am open to offers on the engine. I realize that I didn't get the best deal to have this engine built. As for 330 HP, that is through the manifolds on a torque cam so if someone wanted to run headers and put more of a HP cam in it, iit would build a lot more power higher up in the RPM band.

I am definitely able to post any casting numbers but am not up on which ones you guys would like to see so definitely let me know. I will venture out to the shop today to see what I can find though.

It was painted Gold to look better in the engine bay of our 65. It would be very easy to paint this engine blue if someone desired to do so.

I realize that I am new on this forum but my son and I post a lot over on pro-touring.com. And there is a build thread of this car there (http://bit.ly/nkFIYR). Though I may not have gotten the best deal building the engine it has been a solid engine. It has great oil pressure even during autocrossing unlike some friends of mine with similar combinations.

Again I am open to offers so please if you are interested give me a call or email.

Paul

Hey guys, $6k is what it's going to take to buy this engine. The Air Cleaner alone is 400 bucks if you were to buy a new one! $6k is a steal.

This is Richard that talked to you about swaping this motor for my 64 Lemans project last year. It is a nice motor but if you really want to sell it I think $4000.00-4500.00 will be the number. 6K can have a new one built with a reputable Olds builder. Just my .02 You may get lucky and find the buyer at the number you want but I think you will be storing it a long time.
