Wow, not mine was at 20 bucks three days ago, just goes to show you how crazy prices can get, Even if it was the last original part on my car I wouldn't pay 200 for it

"has some light surface rust
this can be sanded and repainted in the original factory color silver"

Who needs $200?

I can just use a match to light my cigar a couple of times, and send the two bills to the guy for the mirror instead .

Just goes to show you how much people can rip you off for parts.

I put a modern Gentex mirror with temp, autodim, and compass in my 442 and z28.
Total cost $25 each with the sensors from pick n pulls. This isn't my pic, but the exact model.

They even have one's with backup camera's in the GM mirrors now. Pretty cool.

I seen this auction too.

As Eric said a lot of surface rust on the frame for a $208.00 NOS vanity mirror.

Also, no rocket symbol etched into the face of the mirror either.

That makes me wonder what my mirror with "OLDSMOBILE" on the frame is worth. I know It is not correct for '68 A-Body, but it looks very nice. I will try and find a pic.

Watching ebay ads, it seems like you see NOS on anything and the prices go crazy. But I agree, this is so much above what one would expect. John

A fool and his money are soon parted and this is a case of some fool parting with his money. I don't think it is worth $200 without the rust.

I remember getting one of those with my 1st 69 Cutlass Convertible back in 1985. There was a ton of NOS parts with the car. Wouldnt emagine that the cost of NOS parts would become so crazy!

Oldsmobile guys are almost as bad as Mopar guys when it come to overpaying for parts.
You could put a video monitor in the visor for less.
That guy bought the box and instructions because that mirror is messed up.
The repo mirror Fusick has for 40 bucks looks the same to me except for the rocket logo.
I don't think I've ever had a show judge even look under a sun visors?

Vista Cruisers have four sun visors.

I have some of those, and they do NOT have the rust or scale issues that one has.Not worth selling them,as I would probably end up needing them anyway.I was cleaning-out my 72 one time, after the races, and mine was cracked. It wasn't before. How do you crack a mirror at the track?

That's very cool, never knew that.

I was thinking this morning even if I had unlimited funds I am not sure I would spend that kind of money on an item like that. I can accept that someone is doing that - like I said it could be the "last original" part that person is looking for, but as I see it these cars our made to drive and enjoy and to go that far and spend that much for a piece like that is just questionable.

Even if they were putting it on a car for BJ that one part wouldn't make a bit of difference in the final price. And if that person is trying to make it perfect for one of us to buy at auction most of us who would know the difference wouldn't be buying from there in the first place.
