1969 SS1 set of rims for sale. AWSOME condition!!!

I have a set of 4 that have the center caps and rims that are in next to new condition. I cant find any pits in the face of the rims, but there might be some on the backs. Center caps are just as nice as the rims but have a Magnum 500 emblem on them instead of the Olds emblem. No dissapointments with this set of rims. 10-7 68 date code and they are 14 by 6 inch rims. $800.00 plus the ride or best offer.

What was your offer?
A friend of mine has a set of 4 that he's going to sell, likely not in as nice a shape as the ones above, but still complete w/ caps. I'll try to get the date codes from him and some pics.

Please post your offers here. I have had an offer for 300. New cost 230 each plus the cap? I see people on this site paying 125 each for one rim of this quality, so I am guessing that a set of rust free and damage free date coded rims have to be worth more than 75 each. Also, everyone tells me that the rims "look like" drum brake rims, but no one wants to confirm that, so I have to think they are for disk brake cars?

Show us a pic of the back side of the rim and whether there is a 900 code stamped on it somewhere...

I just checked and unless the code is on the inside of the tire on the rim, there arent any other codes.

The guy came over, made me a $400.00 offer and I am going to sell them to him tomorrow. He wanted to give me a check, but I told him that it is cash and carry, not check and carry. I will delete this after sold. I am kind of hoping he doesnt come get them. As he pointed out to me, they do look great on my car.

Does not need to be deleted. Just say sold and the thread will get burried away on its own.

How do you consider these AWESOME condition? I usually keep my mouth shut about this stuff but this type of Ebay mentality just jerks me off.

The black paint, well gray, is flaking off. The lug nuts are pitted. The chrome looks like it was polished so much you took it down to the nickel. It's not even silver anymore but has that yellow nickel tint to it. The center caps aren't even Oldsmobile caps yet you're calling them Oldsmobile SSI wheels and the center plastic piece is so faded you can barely see the incorrect logo. They aren't worth the $800 or even the $400.

Rant off.

Arent there rules about this kind of talk on this site? Keeping you r mouth shut would be good advice!! I thought that unless you are making an offer on an item your not supposed to critisize the posts? Now how can you tell from where you are what the condition is? There is no rust or curb rash and they are strait and all 4 are date coded the same. You should buy the reproduction rims if you dont want matching numbers.

I took a picture of them without doing anything to them. I have the tires off now and was going to clean them up and take them outside and get some pictures, but seeing this site is made up of a bunch of idiots who constantly put there foot in there mouths, I am going to stop answering this site and stop selling anything to the people here. I have nothing good to say about this site and plan on telling anyone who wants to know what I think that this site is crap. To the guy who said to seell my junk elsewhere, I am.

I think you made my point for me, well done.

Looking at your signature you have two beautiful cars, the 66 and 67, yet not one Oldsmobile. It's obvious you're just here to sell your wares and now you're mad because you got called out on it. I mean honestly, if you're going to try and sell something for $800 in this economy I would assume you'd put your best foot forward and not try and BS people as to what you have. One picture isn't going to cut it and neither are your explanations. Heck you didn't even try to clean them up yet we're supposed to take your word as gospel? You're a charlatan and a huckster looking for a quick buck. Good luck at the county fair selling your stuff from now on. How many times did you beat us over the head with warnings of selling them on Ebay? Like that made your product any more desirable?

I love internet tough guys. My family, myself and my lineage really appreciates your candid and in depth analysis of our genetic code.

I'm sure I'll soon be told to stop talking on this thread, which is fine, I'm done with this thread. I'm unaware of any 'rules' about saying what you feel about any topic here. I have a right to speak my mind and did so just like countless others have. You can take that PC crap and shove it. If more people actually spoke their mind and told it like it is we'd have a much better planet for it. At least we'd know where we all stand. Now you know where you stand. Of course that's just my opinion and it's far from humble.

I know I am on the newer side around here but got to agree with George on this one, especially about speaking your mind.

"Next to new condition" really. Yeah the look decent if you have the time and ability to clean them up and repaint them, anything past that is a stretch. But hey I gave up on the originals and bought a set of Cragars instead

OK guys, time to take a deep breath and calm down. Please keep your language fit for a family friendly environment. Discuss the topic without personal attacks, and that goes to all parties. If you can't the thread will be closed.

Kudos Trip. People don't get the picture. Next to new is not some rust or possible issues on the back of the rim. They are completely used and tired.I am trying to sell 4 objects But I will take an obscure picture of one.

The wheels in question are aftermarket Motor Wheel Corp. "MAGNUM 500s" not Oldsmobile SSIs.

They were made by the same company but are not identical to either the drum or disc brake SSIs. Also, the 500s had "bright" spokes compared to the SSIs "satin" spokes.
