1970-72 Passenger side seatbelt retractor

This is the right side retractor. Factory black Extends and retracts perfectly. Original GM belt. Unit has been painted interior gloss black. Belt has been re-dyed as well. Removed from a nearly non exsistant rusty floor. So the mount is badly corroded.

$35 shipped.

Nicle clean up on it. Those bases are pretty thick so I don't think the corrosion is that bad. Just looks ugly. Whoever buys it can disassemble it and bead it if they're looking for something closer to perfect. Personally, I think you did a great job.

Hey John I don't need it but I think the 70 belts are different, but I can't remember for sure because it's been a LONG time since I've been in a 72. But does it pull out far enough to go all the way across the lap or only about half way? If half way then it's good for 70.

It's got the extra keyhole shape for the shoulder strap. I thougth that was 1972 only. But I guess as long as it clips into the clasp that's all that matters. John

Johns correct I believe, the 70s and 71 did not connect to the shoulder strap that way.

this one is full across after comparison with my 72. The buckle (clasp) is different in the my 72. My driver 72 has an extra buckle for the shoulder strap, no keyhole. This was pulled from a 1972 Cutlass "S", mine is a Supreme. So it was different option, or could also have been an early build 72 with leftover 71 supplies being used up. Being the car pictured has an 03/72 build date. Hard to say.

So this is 72 as well, based on the model (S or Supreme) or the build date. I can't find the specific number in my book, but the part number stitched to the belt (when pulled all the way out is) 9610252. Hammill Model # 1200, 48 E 71 (probably the year)

Ok I'm not nuts. The 72 Supreme I owned the lap belt went all the way across. I wasn't sure how that went or when it changed.
