2 425 core motors **** UPDATE **** Parting out both motors

Not sure really what to ask for them. Just picked up a couple 425s. They were supposed to be runners, but turned out they are just cores. Sold complete. Dont want to part them out. Make a fair offer.

1st one is a 65 2bl 9 to 1 motor A heads (no AIR bumps). Its got a ridge and some rust in a few cylinders. so gonna need bored. Turns over. never took the pan off. As is in pics. Carb, to pan, water pump to flexplate (and balancer) This one was EXTRA greasy. So valve covers and pan are real nice. No rust.

2nd one is a 65 4bl (4gc) 10.25 to 1 A heads (no air bumps). Verry slight ridge. Crank is nice and only needs a polish (just to take off the oil stains) All the rods where tight. Sold just like the other. Carb to pan, water pump to flexplate (and balancer)

Well again i bought another bad used motor. I really need a good runing motor. Olds 330-455. Let me know what you have and its got be a good runing motor. NO smoke, NO knocks or noises, no leaks, and GOOD oil pressure (and 10psi hot in gear is not good in my opinion)

I also have a 455 longblock to for trades. 75 block, 4sp crank, 1 E head and 1 J head. Top part of the ex manifold bolt hole is cracked on the E head, and it has a bolt broken off in front of the E head too. Its supposed to have a small comp cam in it, new oil pump, and steel timing set in it. Smokes out of the E side exhaust, and the rear main seal leaks like a siv. Comes with Olds script valve covers (straight but some pitting)

So basically im willing to trade any or all motors for a good running motor. Let me know what you have. Even if you just have a motor for sale PM me and i can see if i can scrape up the cash.

Well i decided to brake down the 2bl 425 alittle more today. And i was really surprized on how nice it was. I thought it had more rusat in the cylinders. But it doesnt look that bad at all. But it still has a nice ridge so i would think the block would need to be bored. All the rods are tight. I took off the # 3 and 4 mains and 1 rod cap. The crank looks new. It wouldnt need anything to run it. Yes its STD. Here are a few pics.

Oh and on a side note. The nylon timing gear looked great. LOL but the odd thing is how much bigger it is compared to the stock 350 one. Look at the pics.

My car is non AC, but i wouldn't think that the brackets would be much different? Or would they?

Also what about an alternator bracket?

Well for an A/C car the compressor is on the right (passanger) side and the power steering and alt are on the left. Non A/C has the ALT on the right and power steering on the left. But you can use them any way you want. it still works

Slow down there hotrod. It wasnt just your bid. It was all bids. BTW you wherent even winning. It was dmr-racing. I shipped out the other crank today. And it cost me $93 to ship it. Didnt expect shipping to be that high. I put on the auction $50 flat rate. So thats why i pulled the auction. I dont mind eating a few bucks on the shipping. But not $40-50

O I know it doesn't really matter who was winning or not to me I just wish a courtesy email would have been sent as I am local pick up for that crank.

And there is no hard feelings you had to do what you had to do to save your money LOL I would have done the same thing but sent courtesy emails to the bidders.

Believe me I’ve tried, but it seems that all the blocks around here are damaged. I’ve got a few days off at the end of October and there’s nothing like a road trip in fall
I dont mind the drive if its worth it. In your opinion, is the block in good enough condition to become an everyday driver? if so ill take it.

Well you could hone it and run it. I didnt measure it. But it does look like a hone would work. Whats your plans with it? Do you have all the parts already and just need the block?

Im wanting to keep it a 425 and not bore it out more than 30 over if I can help it. I have some parts but have not bought pistons yet so i have some room to adjust. I'm going to make a 10.25 to 1 setup that i'll tweak a bit but its going to be a daily driver so nothing too crazy.
