‘70-‘72 4 speed console adapter

OEM 4 speed adapter for optional console car.
Nice original, chrome bezel looks mint.
There is a chip on the forward edge, not visible when installed.
$95 + the ride
PM if interested
Thanks

What is the deal with the chipped forward side? I recently purchased one of these with nearly identical damage. (In the process of repairing now). Are they an interference fit?

I don’t know, the part is installed with cloth backed adhesive tape, so should install with no pressure.
Maybe a hard 2nd to 3rd shift?

I believe that your asking price is in the pocket based on the cost of new units. I would like to share some photos of how I had dealt with an adapter that I’d purchased in a very similar condition. I simply bent some T3 aluminum to replicate the original base foundation and adhered with Hysol 934. Then replicated the two broken portions from Kydex (slightly oversized) and bonded with Hysol 934 with scrap aluminum shims to bring the repairs to the same level as the original piece. Once dried I trimmed everything down to stock dimensions and finally coated the entire repair with Hysol and blotted the adhesive to replicate the factory grain. Wash with soap and water/dry and coat with SEM Tuxedo black. Perhaps more photos on completion. Good luck with the sale!

And expired at that! You oughta see my eight track housing repair!😂. Not-so-sure about the “master” part though, I’ve made plenty of mistakes. The key is to learn and not replicate.
