Jimmy, I believe the '70 grille is a separate piece from the speaker assembly - that is, with this particular '71-'72 part the speaker grille bolts go through the speaker mount holes and the assembly is mated together, In '70, the speaker could be removed without removing the grille.

Cool, learned something new with that. Would love to see a picture of a ‘70 grille.

These are the bolts that mount the '70 rear speaker to the seat back metal, then the speaker grill attaches with the Phillips screws.

I'm sorry, Bill - getting off track on your for sale post. I don't know where you come up with all these cool parts!!!! You could use everything in your kit here on a '70 and just buy the grille and nuts separately, if perfection was your goal. Everything else is the same.

I haven’t delved that far yet but I was thinking the speaker mounted to the metal frame underneath the package tray and there were holes cut out underneath the Mesh on the package tray for the sound to come through? I haven’t even looked at assembly manual in regard to this.

Bob, I think you may have those clips confused with the hardtop. Those look to be for a convertible and the speakers mount underneath the package tray and not behind the seat.
