FYI,
The 'L' shaped white plastic piece is a splash guard for the reverse light switch on the side of the transmission.

That "L" piece is part of the compartment of the 4 sp console. It has flocking on it, and screws to the inside near the end of a 4 sp console.

Wow, it was in the trunk with the reverse switch when I bought the car originally. I had no idea, thanks.
